Who we are
Safehome is a nonprofit organization and domestic violence shelter in Overland Park for survivors of domestic violence.
Our core purpose is to provide a healing atmosphere where survivors of domestic violence can gain inner strength, explore options, receive support and establish a life free of violence. Through Safehome’s shelter and other services, approximately 8,000 individuals each year receive the support they need to lead healthy, independent lives.
As the only domestic violence shelter in Johnson County, and the largest in the state of Kansas, Safehome strives to break the cycle of domestic violence and partner abuse for victims and their children.
$0.91 cents of every $1.00 donated goes to direct client care
Your financial support helps us achieve our mission to break the cycle of domestic violence and partner abuse for survivors and their children at our domestic violence shelter in Overland Park.
We provide critical services to women, men, and children and are committed to ensuring the safety of all families in our community with your assistance. Whether it is a one-time donation, recurring monthly gift, or annual gift, every little bit makes a big difference.

Gifts of Stock
Gifts of stock are an excellent way to give back to Safehome. When you donate a gift of stock, you receive a tax deduction for the full value of the stock on the day it is transferred to Safehome, and avoid taxes on capital gains.
Planned gifts made through a provision in one’s will naming Safehome as the beneficiary is an option. You may choose to give a specific amount, asset, or percentage of your estate, the remainder of your estate after bequests to your heirs, or a bequest contingent upon the survival of heirs.
Safehome may be named as the owner and sole or shared beneficiary of a life insurance policy. If so, the premiums are tax-deductible to the payee. Prepaid insurance policies are deductible during the lifetime of the policyholder.
